Mountain Shepherds is in a way all about business and using a business platform as a tool to explore and understand our country and enjoy its rich cultural and natural heritage. It is about a process of integrating the north, south, east and west of India within ourselves.
We hope that similar programs will emerge from other parts of our country where local youth invite youth from other regions to experience the social, cultural and natural environment of their regions. This also entails redefining tourism which is the fastest growing industry at the moment. Here we would have loved to use popular words like 'responsible tourism', 'sustainability', 'equity' etc but we are confident that you will understand exactly what we are trying to say !
We strongly believe in the power of dreams. That's how we started our journey way back in 2001. That dream is now flourishing as a small community owned responsible tourism enterprise. Our next venture proposes a coming together of the Himalayas and the distant seas. The venue will be the meadows of Auli and Darwa Top in the high alpine meadows of Uttarakhand Himalayas. You can choose your dates between the 9th of April and the 15th of May.
